MEmu -Android on your PC

We can think of several reasons why you want Android on your PC, the most demand is for the rich offer of the Play Store on your PC. MEmu is one of the most recent Android emulators and the tool has a lot going for us.

  • Pros
  • User friendly
  • Many built-in functions
  • Negatives
  • Lockups
  • Old Android versions

Unlike many other Android emulators, MEmu is easy and quick to set up, and once you sign up with a Google account, you can get started right away, without changing any of the default settings. Also read: 11 tips for Android on your PC with BlueStacks.

Install apps

You look at a program window that could just be an enlarged version of your smartphone. Some apps are also pre-installed, including a browser, ES File Explorer and, yes, Google Play Store. So installing additional apps is no more difficult than opening the Play Store and adding the apps you want. If you don't immediately find what you're looking for in the official app store, you can take another route: you download an apk file and install it in the emulator with a few mouse clicks. You do this from a button bar that you can quickly make (in)visible.

Additional Features

You will find many other functions on this button bar. From here you can also make the Android window (almost) full screen, take a screenshot, rotate the screen, copy an app to your phone (via a USB cable), a macro recorder (which records your actions and playing again), change the sound volume, or create a screencast. It is also possible to connect your keyboard or joystick to your touchscreen, so that you can perform the corresponding action simply with a tap with your finger. MEmu allows you to change all kinds of settings, such as number of CPUs and amount of memory, device model, resolution, GPS location and root mode.

Multiple emulations

The tool is also accompanied by a Multiple Instances Manager: this makes it possible to run different emulations (from Android 4.2 over 4.4 to 5.1 currently) at the same time, useful when you want to play several games at the same time. Some apps won't run in one emulator, but may run in the other emulator.

Conclusion

MEmu is a very user-friendly and fast Android emulator. The tool offers a nice number of functions by default and can also start several emulation instances at the same time. Unfortunately, the program is not 100% stable.
