Since it became part of Intel, McAfee has been sitting on top of a huge mountain of money and very close to a lot of innovation. So if one company has to show where the security of our digital lives is going, it is Intel Security. Also read: What is the best free antivirus?

User friendly

LiveSafe is a security package based on the principle of 'unlimited food' for the whole family. All family members can protect all their devices with it. It supports Windows, OS X, iOS and Android, but not Windows Phone. The functionality differs per device, although this is also because not all devices require or even allow the same protection. Especially Apple is very strict.

The basis for combating malware is of course the well-known McAfee Internet Security, but now under the name McAfee LiveSafe. There's antivirus, antispam, antispyware, its own firewall, and the WebAdvisor that blocks dangerous sites, checks downloads and detects weak passwords. Using strong passwords is now easier, because after a year of testing, there is now True Key, a really new component that manages your passwords and automatically logs you in to all known web services. For authentication, True Key uses a scan of your face, but also a fingerprint or, for example, a second device. In addition to passwords, you can also securely store notes in True Key, as well as important information such as addresses, credit card and driver's license information. True Key syncs this between all your devices, whether it's Windows, OS X, Android or iOS. Use of True Key is limited to five people.

Marketing

LiveSafe is certainly innovative, but apparently Intel Security also finds it necessary to throw a lot of marketing budget at it. There are tons of McAfee products in major stores and McAfee trial software on almost every device. The competition shines through its absence and clearly cannot cope with such a battle.

Conclusion

In addition to protection against malware, LiveSafe focuses much more on protecting your identity and privacy. It can only do that by being present on every device you use and it succeeds well.
