If you want to access your files in iCloud on a PC, you need iCloud Control Panel for Windows. iCloud was released simultaneously with the release of iOS 5 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. With this service you can store photos, documents, contact details, music, appointments, etc. in the cloud so that they are available on all your devices.

Thanks to iCloud, you no longer have to move your files between your different devices. This is now all happening 'in the cloud'. For example, to see the photos you have taken with your iPhone on your computer, you basically do not need to do anything. Just log into iCloud.com and you will see your calendar, contacts, etc. Do you also want a backup on your computer? If you have a Mac, your photos will be displayed directly in iPhoto or Aperture. Unfortunately not in other Mac software. However, to synchronize your photos, contacts, calendar and internet bookmarks with your PC, you need this tool: iCloud Control Panel for Windows. After installation, the program nestles in the control panel, under Network and Internet.

You can find iCloud in the control panel or at the bottom of the taskbar.

Sync

As soon as you open the iCloud Control Panel, you can specify exactly what you want to synchronize with your PC. Unlike Mac, you don't need any special software to sync photos. When you Photo Stream check box, you can use Options indicate in which folder photos should be uploaded and downloaded. Then you can simply transfer photos to and from your iPhone or other iDevice via Windows Explorer. To sync email, contact information, or calendars and tasks through iCloud, you need Outlook. It suffices here to just tick what you want to sync. Unfortunately, synchronizing bookmarks via iCloud Control Panel for Windows is only possible via Internet Explorer and Safari. iCloud Control Panel for Windows is a great tool if you want to coordinate your files between iCloud.com and your PC.
