Apple has released a service that allows developers to convert their MobileMe account into an iCloud account. With the service, email messages, contact information, and the calendar from MobileMe can be copied to iCloud. Unfortunately, other data will be lost.
This writes 9 to 5 Mac. The replacement of MobileMe with iCloud means iWeb, iDisk and Photo Gallery will be lost. Developers will also continue to have access to their MobileMe account and can continue to use the services.
Other functionalities that will be lost are the synchronization of dashboard widgets and dock items, keychains, signatures, mail rules, mail smart boxes and mail settings.
The service that allows developers to convert their accounts is available through the MobileMe website. MobileMe will close on June 30, 2012.
