How to remove your Windows 10 password

If you live alone or if you're the only one with access to your computer, you may not find it necessary to log into Windows 10 with a password. Fortunately, you can remove your Windows 10 password to sign in automatically.

For security reasons, it is almost always best to protect your computer with a password. But if you live alone or if no one else can access your computer, you may not find it necessary to log in with a password every time. It takes time and it can be annoying. In Windows 10 it is possible to log in automatically, without a password. You can also recover a lost Windows 10 password.

Pay attention: This is obviously not something we recommend for a laptop that is taken everywhere or a computer that can be accessed by several people. Make sure that no strangers or malicious persons can access your computer if the login password is disabled.

Completely disable password

The option to remove the login password cannot be found among the regular settings of Windows 10 for security reasons. For this you need to enter the text in the search bar next to the start button netplwiz type in and press Enter to press. You will then see a new window with the name User Accounts.

On the tab Users is the option Users must provide a username and password to use this computer. If you remove the check mark next to this option and then click To apply click, no user needs to enter another password to load their Windows 10 user account. This setting is not applied until the computer is restarted.

If you want Windows 10 to ask for a password again at a later time, go back to this window and check the option again Users must provide a username and password to use this computer.

Exception

It seems that not all PC manufacturers allow this setting. It is therefore possible that on some systems it is not possible to uncheck this option.
