You normally only listen to your playlists in Spotify with the official program or a suitable app. Do you think it would be convenient to save the songs locally as mp3 files? With Spotydl you can easily save Spotify playlists on your PC.

Note: Spotydl makes an attempt during the installation to saddle you with unnecessary software! It is therefore important that you opt for an advanced installation, in which you remove some checks. The interface is very similar to that of Spotify. You just need to indicate which songs you want to keep a local version of. You arrange that by dragging the desired playlists from Spotify to Spotydl. You also determine in the file browser in which folder you store the files.
Download or record?
The freeware offers two methods to save Spotify songs. For example, you can choose to get all the songs in the playlist from other sources. Spotydl therefore does not download directly from the Spotify server, but ensures that you also get the correct MP3s via alternative sources.
Once the program finds results on the web, it compares the length of the song to the original. In this way, the chance that you will have to deal with false hits is small. This feature works very well as we see most of the songs in the playlist appear as local mp3 files. However, the download speed is sometimes on the slow side.
Moreover, Dutch-language music is sometimes difficult to find. The second method allows you to record the songs directly from Spotify. That takes a lot more time, but you are assured of the right song.
Spotydl downloads all songs of the playlist from various mp3 websites.
Conclusion
Spotydl works very well, because you can find most music without any problems. If you are unable to download a song, simply record the music directly from Spotify. Keep in mind that the freeware records all sounds from your PC.
It's nice that the program searches YouTube videos for the music on its own. There is also a paid version where Spotydl automatically finds files in the best quality and downloads more songs simultaneously. The developer charges a one-time fee of 15 dollars (approx. 12 euros).
During the download process, you can preview a YouTube clip of the song.
