Not everyone has a credit card or wants to use it for online payments. In that case, there is PayPal to turn to. You can now also use this service for all your iTunes and app store accounts in iOS. This is how you pay with PayPal in iTunes.
For years, paying for music, movies and apps on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch was only possible with a credit card. Annoying, because you always have to make sure that you manually return the debited amounts to prevent a deep red card. In addition, you also pay for using the card and so on. One solution was to buy iTunes gift cards from the store and redeem their value with apps and more. Since a while - probably after a lot of nagging from users - it is also possible to pay via PayPal. This is a payment service that you can link directly to (for example) your bank account. A payment made via PayPal is therefore automatically debited from your regular bank account. No more hassle with a mandatory credit card!
Set up
To prepare your i-devices for payment via PayPal, start the app Institutions. Tap your (account) name in the column with options at the very top. Then tap Payment and delivery. In another new panel, tap under Method of payment on the method selected there. That will be - if you've never looked at this before - a credit card. Then choose as payment method paypal. Then it is time to enter your login details for this service. Once you are logged in, you can now pay via PayPal. And if Apple was your only reason for using a credit card, get it out right now.
Pay attention
If you are going to use PayPal, it is of course important to close this service with a very strong password. If you don't and your account is hacked, the turnips are done. Use a good password generator, such as this online copy. And then store your passwords in a well-secured password manager, such as mSecure. This way you only have to remember one password to access all those unmemorable random passwords. If all that is in order, you can now pay all your iTiunes purchases completely carefree via PayPal.
