Word has the option to colorize paragraphs, complete pages and of course tables and individual cells. But how did that go again...?
The use of color in a text document can - if used somewhat subtly - make it more pleasant to read. For example, by providing a paragraph with a light pastel-colored background, you emphasize it. And because of the chosen 'soft' color not in a loud way. To provide a paragraph in Word 2016 with a background color, first select the desired paragraph, for example by simply dragging the left mouse button over it. Then click in the ribbon under the tab Start on the small downward facing triangle next to the paint bucket in the block Paragraph. Then choose a color of your liking from the palette. It is useful to use the Theme Colors, which creates a consistent whole. If you prefer to make a free color choice, click on More colors.
Page color
It is also possible to provide a complete page with a background color. Keep in mind, of course, that printing something like this costs a lot of toner or ink. More something for digital distribution. Anyway, setting a page background color is an option. Click in the ribbon under the tab To design on Page color and choose another color. If you choose a theme color again, you will see that the colors of the previously colored paragraph match nicely.
Table
On a table you can fully indulge in colors. If you want you could even paint each cell in a different color. Create a table using the Insert tab. To color cells, click in one of them, or select a (part of) a row or column by dragging. Then click in the ribbon below Start on the downward-facing triangle next to the paint bucket. Indeed, again in the block Paragraph, the color filler also works for tables.
