Downloading videos on Instagram is not very difficult, but you must have the right tools. We explain how it works.
On Instagram you can easily and quickly put a photo or video online, which can then be viewed by all your followers. For some videos, you can set them to disappear from your profile over time, making it impossible for anyone to see them. Conversely, other users can of course also delete their own videos. Fortunately, if you want to see certain videos later, there are options for that.
Instagram itself doesn't offer video downloading options, so you'll need third-party tools to help you out.
desktop
There are several websites that allow you to download videos from Instagram and they all work roughly the same way. One of the easiest websites is DreDown. First, go to Instagram and load the video you want to download. Copy the URL from your browser's address bar, go to the DreDown page and click the Instagram link at the top of the page. Paste the URL into the search bar and press the DreDown button. Then you can download the video.
Does DreDown not work quite well? Then try similar websites like DownloadGram, Download Instagram Videos or Gramblast.
iOS
iOS security settings make it a bit more difficult to download a video from Instagram (although the aforementioned options also work in iOS), but with the right app it is possible. One option is Blaze: Browser & File Manager. Copy the URL of a photo or video in the Instagram app and paste it into Blaze. Press the download button and select the option Export video To Camera Roll.
android
Also for Android you have apps that help download Instagram videos. For example, try Video Downloader for Instagram, a free app that actually does exactly what its name suggests. The app works the same as Blaze: copy the URL in the Instagram app and paste it into the video downloader. The app will serve you some annoying ads, but it gets the job done.
