Windows installs a driver (also called driver) for all equipment in and around your computer. New driver versions fix problems or improve your computer's performance. These drivers can be found on the manufacturer's website, but searching for them is a bridge too far for many people. Windows 7 has a good function in the form of Windows Update to automatically update drivers from well-known manufacturers via the Internet, but other Windows versions could use some help.
Smart Driver Updater examines your computer and checks the Internet for new driver versions. Found drivers are then installed within a few mouse clicks. This is especially useful for slightly older Windows XP/Vista computers, but Smart Driver Updater also works under Windows 7. Be careful when using this freeware. Installing new drivers is not without risk. If you are not an advanced computer user, it is only recommended if you have problems with certain hardware. Smart Driver Updater has a built-in function that creates a Windows restore point so that you can restore your system in case of problems. Smart Driver Updater was free at the time of writing, but given that the other software from the makers has to be paid for, it is expected that this too will one day become a payment program. So be quick!
Smart Driver Updater searches for new drivers from installed hardware.
