Snapchat has added the Snap Map feature in its latest update. It allows users to view stories from all over the world on a dedicated map. Here we explain how that works.
Update
To use the Snap Map, you must first download the latest version of Snapchat from the App Store or Google Play.
After installing the update, open your Snapchat and navigate to the camera. There squeeze your fingertips together, as you would if you want to zoom out a photo. Now the . appears Snap Map.
When recording a Snap, you can send it to friends, add it to My story and add to Our story. If you place it on Our story, there is a chance that your Snap will become visible on the map to others.
All over the world
The figure indicates where you are, photo icons highlight certain locations. The colored spots indicate when a public Snap has been posted somewhere. The darker the spot, the more Snaps you can view. Thanks to the update of Snapchat, it is possible to watch Stories all over the world. From a drawn rack in Copenhagen to the skyline of Hong Kong.
On the social platform Instagram it was already possible to link a Story to the place where you recorded it. With Instagram, however, you can only view Stories from where you are at that moment. Thanks to the update in Snapchat, you can view Stories wherever Snapchat is used.
