It may happen that your phone cannot connect to WhatsApp, while there is nothing wrong with the service itself. Here we show you what you can do to fix this problem.
Wi-Fi
First, make sure you have an internet connection at all. It is possible that your WiFi connection is broken, or that it is automatically disconnected when your phone enters sleep mode. So try disabling and re-enabling Wi-Fi on your phone first, or reboot your phone. Also check the settings to see if your phone keeps the WiFi connection in sleep mode. If it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the broadband service, you can try restarting your router if you can access it.
Data connection
Also check if mobile data is enabled on your phone. If there is no nearby Wi-Fi network that you can connect to, WhatsApp will not work if mobile data is turned off or the signal is very poor.
Check in your phone's settings whether WhatsApp is allowed to use data in the background. If WhatsApp works when you have a Wi-Fi connection but not with mobile data, chances are your APN settings don't allow any traffic other than web traffic. You can check this with your mobile operator.
Updates
Is there nothing wrong with your WiFi or data connection? Check if there are updates available for your operating system or WhatsApp. It is possible that the update will fix the problem. If not, try completely removing the WhatsApp app from your device. Then download and install WhatsApp again.
Note: WhatsApp chats are not stored on WhatsApp's servers. So if you delete the app you will lose your old conversations. So make sure you make a backup first. You can do this in the settings of the app itself.
