This is how you do it: Zoom in and out in your browser

Do you want to look at an image up close but the reading glasses are still on top? By zooming in on a web page you can easily take a closer look at everything. How do you do that? You read it here!

Chrome

In Chrome you can choose different zoom options. For example, you can zoom in on the current web page, adjust the font size or show all web pages zoomed in by default. This is how you work:

Set zoom and font size for all web pages

1. Click on it Chrome menu in the browser toolbar (the three lines below each other at the top right)

2. Go to Institutions and click at the bottom of the page Advanced settings to display

3. Scroll to the heading web content and choose the desired zoom and font size. You can also adjust the font to your preference.

Zoom on current page

1. Click on it Chrome menu in the browser toolbar

2. Move your mouse to the Zoom section and then choose a + to make the page bigger and a - to make the page smaller. If you want to use the full screen, click on it square.

Shortcut keys

If you want to zoom in and out quickly, it is most likely useful to use the shortcut keys. Here they are in Chrome:

Zoom in: Use Ctrl and + (Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS) or ⌘ and + (Mac).

Zoom out: Use Ctrl and - (Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS) or ⌘ and - (Mac).

Full screen: Use F11 (Windows and Linux) or ⌘-Shift-F (Mac)

Adjust the font to your preference.

Internet Explorer

The zoom feature in Windows Internet Explorer enlarges or shrinks everything on the web page, both text and images. You can zoom from 10 to 1000 percent.

1. Open Internet Explorer. You will see a magnifying glass at the bottom right with a percentage next to it. By changing this percentage you can zoom in and out.

2. Click Amended if the desired percentage is not listed, you can choose your own value here. Then press OK.

Shortcuts:

Zoom in: Ctrl and + or use Ctrl and the mouse wheel

Zoom out: Ctrl and - or use Ctrl and the mouse wheel

Full screen: F11

Choose a percentage of your choice between 10 and 1000 percent.

Firefox

Like Chrome, Firefox offers the option of resizing web pages, but you can also adjust the font size to improve readability per website.

Increase/reduce text or entire web page

1. Press alt to temporarily make the traditional Firefox menus visible. Then go to the top of the screen to Image ->Zoom. Here you can choose to enlarge/reduce the entire page or just the text.

Set minimum text size

1. Click the button at the top of the Firefox window Firefox and select Options.

2. Choose the panel here Contents and then for Advanced at the Font & Colors section

3. Then select the desired minimum font size and press OK

Shortcut keys

Zoom in: Ctrl and +

Zoom out: Ctrl and -

Full screen: F11
