You may be wondering about the speed of your home network or Internet connection. With various programs you can measure the speed of your external drive, USB stick, home network and internet connection!

1. Network

2. USB stick

The importance of a fast USB stick only becomes clear if you have a slow stick and have to wait a long time if you want to copy a few files 'just as quickly'. With USBDeview you can easily check how fast your USB stick works. Make sure the USB stick is connected to your computer and start USBDeview. All USB devices that have ever been on your computer are displayed. Note that the menu Options, Display disconnected devices is not active, so the list is limited to the devices that are currently connected. Your USB stick should now be easy to find. See you in the column drive letter the drive letter of your stick, then you can be sure it is the correct one. Right click on your USB stick and choose speed test. Confirm with Start test and wait. The maximum read and write speed (read and write) now appears on the screen. With the button Publish test results If desired, send the data to Usbspeed. Here you will find an overview of the speed of more than seven thousand USB sticks.

3. Internet connection

There are many different web pages where you can have your internet speed measured. The most beautiful website is SpeedTest. This site works intuitively, is beautifully designed and provides good information. SpeedTest's test often works best with a server close to you. SpeedTest automatically finds out which one it is, shows its location and allows you to choose a different test server. Download speed indicates how fast the connection is between a server on the Internet and your computer. This is important when downloading large files. The upload speed is exactly the opposite, it shows the speed at which you send data from your computer to a server on the Internet. Finally, there is the ping test, which measures the response time of the server. The latter is important for online games, for example, and you can have this reaction time tested in detail on PingTest.

SpeedTest.net looks great. The site measures the speed of your internet connection in three ways.
