In the October 2018 update of Windows 10, the clipboard has been greatly improved. It now supports cutting and pasting items between different computers, among other things. Let's see how that works.
Step 1: Power on
With Windows 10's new clipboard, you can copy texts and images on one computer and then paste them on another computer. You need the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (1809) for this. Not sure if you have this update? Check this by typing winver in the start menu, followed by pressing Enter. You see Version 1809, then you have the correct version. If not, you can download the October update.
Microsoft's cloud is used to enable copying and pasting of items between different computers. Open the settings window (tip: use the key combination Windows key+I) and go to System / Clipboard. Turn on the slider On Bee Sync between devices. The new clipboard also has the ability to track multiple items in a history list. We also immediately enable this handy option via this settings window: set the slider to On Bee clipboard history.
Step 2: Paste it!
You open the new clipboard with the key combination Windows key + V. Here you will see all the items you have previously copied. You can now copy and paste items such as text and images, for example via Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. Make sure that you have also enabled synchronization on the other computer, and that that computer is also using the latest Windows 10 October 2018 update. Also, make sure that you are signed in on that computer with the same Microsoft account.
Step 3: Multiple Items
You read it before: the new clipboard also offers you the possibility to work with multiple items. This is handy, because it means you no longer have to copy one item at a time. If you enabled the clipboard history function in the first step, the window will show you several items. If you often paste a specific item, you can pin it to the clipboard and make it easily accessible. Find the item you want to use more often and click on the pin shown next to it. From now on, the item is always available.
