How to free up storage space on your Android

Your smartphone or tablet will soon fill up with apps, photos, videos and all kinds of other data. If you don't know where to start, freeing up storage memory can be a confusing task. Fortunately, Google has created a new app. This allows you to quickly and easily free up storage space

The Files Go app makes it easy to free up storage space. After installing the app from the Play Store, give it permission to access your storage space. You will then immediately see how much storage space you have available and how many gigabytes are available on your device in total.

Below that, you'll see some suggestions for freeing up storage space. In my case, those were duplicate photos, small images (mainly junk I get sent via WhatsApp), unused apps, temporary app files, downloaded files, and large files. Choose the category and select what you want to clean up. Cleaning is a piece of cake this way.

Overview

At the bottom of the app you have two buttons: Storage and Files. The first category is the one I discussed above. The second gives a handy overview of what you have on your device: downloads, received files, apps, images, videos, audio and documents.

However, the most convenient option in this category is to send files without internet. When you use this function, files are shared among themselves. You need the Files Go app on both Androids for this. With this function, selected files are sent back and forth via a WiFi hotspot on the device.
