Netflix is considered by many to be one of the greatest inventions since the sliced bread. With the huge range of good quality (and ahead, also less good) films, series and documentaries you can go a long way. But do you have Netflix 'off' or are you ready for something else? Then there are plenty of alternatives, for example the five below.
Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video is very similar to Netflix and, in addition to its own productions, has an extensive range of films and series from third parties. Prime costs 5.99 euros per month and gives you all kinds of benefits with other Amazon services.
Video country
Videoland (owned by RTL since 2013) offers a lot of Dutch series, films and documentaries. The service also shows RTL productions that will not be shown on regular TV until later. You pay 8.99 euros per month.
NLSees
NLZiet is an initiative of the NPO, RTL and SBS and contains almost all programs from these parties. There are no movies or series to watch; the service lets you watch TV programs whenever you want and costs 7.95 euros per month.
Disney Plus
Disney Plus will start in the Netherlands next year for 6.99 euros per month. The service will get all Disney classics and movies and series from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and 21st Century Fox.
Apple TV Plus
Apple's TV Plus will be available this fall for an undisclosed monthly amount and will receive many of its own shows, series and documentaries. There will also be content from other parties, but don't expect a Netflix-like offer.
