If you want to imitate the way of iOS, it is best to install the Nova Launcher app. When you start the app, Nova Launcher asks if you want to load a backup. click on Next one to skip this. In the next screen you can choose a light or dark color scheme. This does not matter for our purpose, choose one of the two and tap Next one. In the following screens you can adjust a few more settings. If your smartphone asks you to select a home screen app, choose Nova Launcher and tap All the time.
