Save YouTube videos to watch offline

To watch a YouTube video you usually need an internet connection, but with a little preparation the videos can also be saved for later offline viewing.

Before downloading videos from YouTube, please be aware that downloading some content may infringe copyrights.

Download YouTube video

Once you're on a page with a YouTube video, copy the link into the browser's address bar. Then open KeepVid's website and paste the YouTube URL into the field at the top of the page.

Then click the download button to the right of the link you just pasted. Since the page is running a Java script, the browser will ask if you want to run the application. Click "Yes" or "Run".

Make sure you don't click on the big "download" and "play now" buttons on the page, because those are advertisements.

Download MP4 file

Once the list below fills up, you'll probably want to download the highest resolution MP4 file. That format can be played on most computers, smartphones and tablets. Right click on the link and select "save file as" and save the file.
