Want to reinstall or upgrade Windows or Office to Windows 8, but can't find the product key anywhere? The tiny program ProduKey digs deep into the registry to find the information it needs. It prevents you from having to buy an expensive license of the operating system or office suite again if you have lost the key.
It's nice that you don't have to install ProduKey. After a double click on ProduKey.exe, the program will already appear on your screen. Incidentally, there is also an installation version available, but that does not make any difference for use. Make sure you download the correct installation file. The makers are making a 32- and 64-bit version available. You can also download a Dutch language file.
Save product keys
Retrieving the product keys is very easy. You only have to open ProduKey and the desired codes are already in front of you. On our test machine, the freeware successfully uncovered the Office 2010 and Windows 7 licenses.
ProduKey is a simple program with which you can retrieve lost product keys.
Of course you want to keep the data. No problem, because you can save them as a txt, csv, html or xml file. You can then print the product keys and keep them in a safe place. Alternatively, copy the data to another program, such as Word or Excel. You can also use commands to request product keys from other Windows systems within the same network.
ProduKey is an ideal tool to find your expensive Windows and Office license so that you can reuse the software. For example, if you want to try Windows 8, it is wise to secure your old Windows license first. If you don't like the new operating system, you can easily reinstall the old version.
The makers indicate on the website that product keys of some Windows 7 installations are not stored in the registry. The program will therefore not work on every PC. Fortunately, ProduKey requires no installation, making the barrier to try the freeware very low. It is a pity that the program is not able to dig up licenses of other software packages.

None of the approximately 45 virus scanners saw anything suspicious in the installation file. To the best of our knowledge at the time of publication, the installation file is safe to download. See the full VirusTotal.com detection report for more details. If a new version of the software is now available, you can always rescan the file yourself via VirusTotal.com.
