Do you use Gmail in Outlook 2010? Then it might also be useful to export your contacts from Gmail and import them into Outlook.
1. Export
Log in to your Gmail account and go to the drop-down window Gmail / Contacts. click on More / Export. Select at Which export format? the option Outlook CSV format and press Export.
2. Import
Open Outlook 2010 and choose File / Open / Import. click on Import data from another program or file and choose Next one. Select Comma Separated Values (Windows) and go to Next one.
3. Set up
click on To leaf through and choose the csv file. click on Next one, select the destination folder, click again Next one and choose Map custom fields. Drag the values to the correct fields. click on OK and Complete to import the contacts.
