Do you want to immortalize special moments for later? A paper diary is a bit old-fashioned, so for those who want to keep up with the times, there are digital variants. Day One for example. Thanks to this easy-to-use app, you can quickly capture unique experiences, specific thoughts or funny quotes for later. An app to cherish…
Step 1: Download App
The Day One app is completely free and available for both Android and iOS. Open Google Play or the App Store and search for the application. Install it on your smartphone and you can get started right away. In order to use the application on multiple devices, we recommend that you create a free account. To do this, click on the gear in the top right corner, choose Login / New user and enter your email address. Only after you have clicked on the link in your mailbox, do you choose a strong password. Continue with Keep. The app also asks you if it can use your location. Something that is handy, because then you can later search for your recorded memories based on location.
Step 2: Capture memories
To capture a fun activity, muse or note, just open the app and tap the big plus sign. You can then immediately start typing. With the buttons just above your keyboard you can, among other things, call up the camera, add your current location or the current temperature or format the text with quotes, bold or italic text. Once you're done, tap the checkmark in the top right corner. Have you been using Day One for a while? Via the buttons at the very bottom you can search for specific fragments again based on text, photo, location or day.
Step 3: Additional Settings
The possibilities of Day One are very extensive. For example, you can set reminders. Tap the gear to go to the Institutions to navigate and then scroll through the list until you see Notifications & Reminders encounters. Here you can, for example, set the app to remind you every day at a specific hour to add a message. Another useful setting is Passcode & Biometrics with which it is possible to set an access code for the app. Of course you want to keep your personal fantasies private, right?
