If you save a playlist from Spotify offline, you can listen to your favorite music without an internet connection. However, you cannot find mp3 files on your hard drive, the songs are stored encrypted. Streaming Audio Recorder provides a good solution, but you have to record the songs from Spotify for this. The program does this automatically, but it takes a lot of time.
The principle works like this: you open Spotify and Streaming Audio Recorder. In the last program you press the record button, Streaming Audio Recorder is now in recording mode without actually recording anything. Once you play a song in Spotify, Streaming Audio Recorder will record it. You don't have to stop recording between each song, the program recognizes the pauses between the songs itself.
During the installation you can uncheck the box for Join Wondershare's customer experience improvement plan. At the end you can also uncheck Install Wondershare Player take away.

You will not see the title of the song during the recording, but after the recording the program will search for the correct information. It retrieves this information from Gracenote, a service that holds data for almost all released albums. With some obscure songs this will not work and sometimes the information is even completely incorrect, unfortunately the program cannot directly read information from Spotify. You can set the quality of the recordings by clicking on the gear in Streaming Audio Recorder.
Choose format and choose for example m4a files instead of mp3 files. With bitrate you can set up to 256 Kbit/s. Keep in mind that you have also set a high display format in Spotify, if Spotify plays at 192 Kbit/s and Streaming Audio Recorder records at 256 Kbit/s, this will not give you better sound quality. In Spotify go to Edit / Preferences and under Play put a checkmark in front of you High quality streaming.
The program provides the correct information and album cover when recording.
Not only can you record music files from Spotify, the program records all system audio, including YouTube, Deezer or a Skype conversation, for example. You can also set the program to record something with the Task Scheduler at a specific time. A free test version can be found on the Wondershare website, the program is also available for the Mac. In the test version you can only provide ten songs with information.
