YouTube recently unveiled its new service YouTube Red. YouTube Red is a payment service that will soon give you extra options within the popular video service. It blocks ads for a video, allows you to play videos offline and allows videos to continue playing when you close the app.
Price YouTube Red
Users who sign up for YouTube Red through Android pay $9.99 per month. Consumers who sign up with an iOS device pay $12.99 per month. The reason iOS users are paying more for YouTube Red probably has to do with the 30 percent remittance YouTube has to pay to Apple. Also Read: How to Watch YouTube Videos Offline on Your iPad.
YouTube videos without advertising
Music videos can be played with YouTube Red without the video being preceded by advertising. In addition to blocking ads, you can now also save and play videos offline. When you close the app online while a video is still playing, you can let it continue playing in the background. When you close the current app, the running video will also stop immediately.
Access to Google Play Music
In addition to the YouTube subscription, YouTube Red also gives you access to the content of Google Play Music, Google's counterpart to Spotify. This will be a nice addition to the current app, since YouTube doesn't have all the rights to music videos, and Play Music can justify the relatively hefty price for Red.
YouTube Red will be available in America from November. In the course of 2016, the roll-out will take place across the rest of the world. It is not yet known when Dutch users can subscribe to YouTube Red.
