MissedDownloader has been an excellent tool for downloading television programs for many years. Recently version 2.9 was released with some interesting novelties. For example, the interface has been overhauled and you can now easily download episodes from KIJK and Belgian missed services.

Sometimes it is useful to be able to store video streams of TV programs locally. For example when you travel to a holiday destination without internet or if you want to follow an exciting series along the way. GemistDownloader supports all Dutch missed services and is able to save broadcasts in different formats. Also read: Never miss broadcast Missed.
Choose file format
The user environment of MissistDownloader has been modernized and fits in well with the design of Windows 10. The program guides you through the download process in a few steps. First of all you indicate from which missed service you want to pick up the TV program. It is striking that the KIJK.nl service has been given a place in the main menu.
Although GemistDownloader can now also store streams from the Belgian channels Een, Canvas and Ketnet, the freeware does not indicate anywhere that this possibility exists. After pasting the web link of the stream in the empty field, choose the desired file format. You have the choice to download broadcasts with or without subtitles. It is nice that in the new version, GemistDownloader also exports videos to the mkv format.

The developer has succeeded in making GemistDownloader even more user-friendly. For example, if you want to download several episodes of a series, it is sufficient to paste different URLs together. With RTL XL, the urls are sometimes too long for the input field, so that it sometimes seems that GemistDownloader does not recognize the TV program. Fortunately it just works.
You will also receive a notification when the download process is completed, provided you use at least Windows 8. If you prefer to download video files anonymously, you can route the downloads through a proxy server if desired. Finally, the program automatically provides the files with metadata. Smartphones and tablets are therefore better able to organize the videos.
Conclusion
MissedDownloader has a dead simple interface without unnecessary fuss. This makes the program work very well in practice. The freeware easily stores streams from, among others, npo.nl, RTL XL, KIJK and YouTube, while retaining the original resolution.
