There are various tools and services with which you can take over a PC remotely, but if you are able to send or view screen images enough, then ScreenLeap is an elegant solution. On the 'channel side' it is sufficient to surf to www.screenleap.com and install a tool. If all is well, the app will start automatically and you can immediately indicate what you want to share: the active window, the entire screen or a specific screen part. You determine the latter via a green frame. You will also see the associated code and url that you then pass on to the desired recipient.

Receiver

The recipient only has to surf to this page, after which he will see your shared screen within the contours of his browser window. Some informal tests taught us that the image transfers are fine in terms of speed. It is also reassuring to know that all data is encrypted during transfer. Handy is that with a mouse click (and confirmation) you can reverse the roles of sender and receiver. Of course you can also (temporarily) stop sharing the screen at any time.

Limits

You have to take into account some limitations. If you don't sign in to ScreenLeap, you can only share your screen with up to two people for half an hour. After a free registration, this will be a maximum of one hour with eight people. More is also possible, only you have to pay. It is also good to know that after you have registered you will receive a permanent address (www.screenleap.com/) can appropriate. If you choose this, anyone can view your shared screen via that address, without a code or tool.

Conclusion

ScreenLeap is an elegant solution for those who occasionally want to share (part of) their desktop with other people, if you can live with the limitations of a free account (maximum one hour a day). In any case, no special effort is required on the receiver side in terms of software: a browser is sufficient.
