Facebook stores a lot of information about you. Not only the things you deliberately place on Facebook, such as photos, messages on your timeline, etc., but also, for example, your IP address when you log in and out, advertisements you clicked on, et cetera. Here we show you how to download and view this data.
The longer and more often you use Facebook, the more data accumulates. This includes the photos and videos you upload, statuses you share on your timeline, locations where you check in, friend lists, linked apps, and so on.
However, this information is not together, you can only view it in different places on your Facebook account. For example, your timeline contains your status, photos, videos and other interactions. In your activity log you can see what you've been up to (uploads, accept friend requests, change your profile picture). And your conversations are saved in messages.
You can download all these things very easily in a few steps. This is useful, for example, if you want to close or temporarily deactivate your Facebook account.
In addition, the archive of your Facebook data contains data that you cannot view directly from your Facebook account. For example, think of IP addresses when logging in, advertisements you clicked on, and so on.
What data is in the archive?
Which data is exactly stored in the archive that you can download? The archive contains a lot of information that can also be seen in your account and activity log, as well as information that is not available when you log in to your account, such as advertisements you have clicked, IP addresses that are registered when you log in and out on Facebook. logs out.
Information that you can also view from your account:

- Dates, times and titles of recently clicked ads
- All the addresses you've had on your account before
- An overview of ad topics targeted to you, based on your likes, interests, and other information you post on your timeline
- Any alternate names you have on your account (e.g. a maiden name or nickname)
- All the email addresses you've ever added to your account
- Facial recognition data based on a comparison of the photos you're tagged in
- People who follow you
- Friends, apps or pages you keep hidden from your News Feed
- Any changes you made to the name you originally used when you joined Facebook
- All metadata transferred along with your uploaded photos
- The screen names you've added to your account and the service they're associated with and their visibility on your account

Download your Facebook data
To download your Facebook data, all you need to do is log into your account and go to Institutions to go. On the page General see the following link at the bottom: Download a copy of your Facebook data.
Clicking on this will take you to a page where you Start my archive can click to start the download. For security reasons, you will have to re-enter your password for this. Your download will then be prepared by Facebook, and you will receive an email with a download link. The e-mail address with which you log in to Facebook is used for this.
